Choose Emailer API when you want setup help inside your email account and approved transactional messages tied to genuine customer events. Evaluate Resend when its developer ecosystem, broader email workflows or established paid capacity better match your requirements.
AI support is a starting point, not a unique claim.
Resend has a hosted MCP server with OAuth account linking, a Claude connector, and agent tooling. It would be inaccurate to say that Resend does not support AI-assisted email workflows. Emailer API also exposes account-linked MCP tools, and includes a setup assistant directly in its website.
Our assistant can read the customer’s saved setup state, select an email type, check domain DNS, install an approved template, prepare supported DNS additions and generate framework starter code. You can use it without a separate ChatGPT or Claude account. External connections remain optional and depend on the client’s installation and account requirements.
What happens when DNS gets complicated?
Emailer API shows the actual records for your sending domain. With an authorized Cloudflare connection, supported TXT additions can be prepared for review. Conflicting SPF or DMARC settings need manual resolution; the assistant cannot simply overwrite existing policies. You review and apply the plan in the customer interface. Assistant and MCP tools cannot apply changes or send mail.
That workflow is the reason to try our approach. It is not a claim that no other provider offers domain setup assistance. Compare how each service handles your specific DNS provider and existing records.
Compare free-plan limits carefully.
Resend’s free plan currently includes 3,000 emails per month, 100 per day and 3 sending domains. Its Pro plan starts at $20 per month for 50,000 emails.
Emailer API costs $0 per month on the Free for Life plan. New accounts start at 3,000 monthly recipient reservations and 100 daily. Our planned, review-gated target is up to 50,000/day; it is not available today. The platform shares only 1,000 delivery attempts per day, including 50 reserved for identity mail. Account allowances are not dedicated capacity. Our advantage is the included setup experience and Free for Life pricing; higher future targets are not present-day capacity. Can I replace my Resend API call?
Plan an integration change, not only an API-key swap. Emailer API currently requires an approved fixed template version and a fresh, verified event bound to one recipient and the exact message. Arbitrary HTML, subject overrides, Cc/Bcc, attachments and marketing mail are outside the current sending contract.
- Inventory the emails your app sends. Separate supported transactional events from broadcasts and arbitrary content.
- Verify a sending domain and choose an approved catalog template for each supported event.
- Connect Stripe for payment receipts or paid orders. For other supported events, implement the signed callback on the exact verified sending domain.
- Replace your server-side send path using the verification and send contract. Use scoped keys, validation and idempotency.
- Review current account and shared capacity. Validate first; authorize an actual test send separately and inspect later delivery evidence.
- Preserve your existing production path until the new integration meets your own release requirements.
Where Resend may fit better
If your product needs broader message customization, marketing workflows or more sending capacity than our current shared pool can support, review Resend’s current feature set and paid plans. We do not claim superior deliverability or latency without a comparative study.
